Cardio-Pulmonary Care
We are extremely proud of the level of skill and quality care provided by our Respiratory Therapy Department. Our goal is that like our sister hospital - The Specialty Hospital of Washington at Capital Hill, Hadley’s ventilator weaning rates for patients previously classified as unweanable will remain at or above the national weaning averages for all weaning.
In 2006 the hospital invested in brand new state of the art respiratory therapy equipment manufactured by Respironics, Inc. to enable us to provide even more cutting edge and high quality care. In addition, the Hospital has renovated 2 its surgical suites to allow the performance of some simple pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopies without having to transport the patient to other facilities
The Pulmonary/ Ventilator Weaning Programs at The Specialty Hospital of Washington - Hadley provide individualized treatment for patients with a wide variety of cardiopulmonary needs including supplemental oxygen therapies, complex ventilator management and weaning programs. SHW - Hadley provides mechanical ventilation support management and weaning utilizing both invasive and noninvasive techniques. Patients can be monitored in our 10 bed “ICU” or in one of our 6 “telemetry capable” beds which were upgraded in 2006 to the latest “state of the art” Fukuda monitoring systems. . Our Pulmonary Program is managed by physicians with years of experience specializing in pulmonology and critical care.
